Privacy Statement

Introduction

ICLAM is committed to protecting the privacy of its registered users and visitors to its websites, and views the protection of personal data as being of fundamental importance to the operation of its business. Personal information about registered users is held securely and is treated with the utmost care. The personal information is only visible to the registered user and to ICLAM and executive members, listed on the page Board members. Information about unregistered or logged out visitors are only stored anonymously in website statistics (PLESK-STAT), and cannot be related to individual visitors. However, they can be related to IP-addresses (see separate paragraph below).

Processing personal data of registered users

Data is captured by ICLAM in the course of providing our services. Your personal details are stored in your profile (see My account in the menu) when you register yourself as user of one of ICLAM’s websites. The personal information is restricted to the information you provided and can be changed and deleted by you. This action will also delete your contribution to the website, like comments to articles. You will have to delete your registration separately on every ICLAM website where you registered yourself.

ICLAM uses this information to provide services to registered users, taking the form of privileges and permissions at the ICLAM websites. If you do not want to receive these services, you can unregister yourself. ICLAM uses this information also to inform registered users of developments in insurance medicine, ICLAM Conferences and services provided by ICLAM. This is done by way of Newsletters. If you do not wish to receive these Newsletters, you can unsubscribe at any time.

Third parties

The personal information may be passed to the National Organizing Committees (NOC) of ICLAM Conferences, but never to any other third parties. The NOC’s of ICLAM Conferences will inform you in the same ways as described for ICLAM. Registration and subscription to Newsletters are dealt with separately for all ICLAM websites. After the official financial conclusion of the conference, all personal data of delegates will be destroyed, unless (and as long) financial legislation in the country where the conference was held prevents this.

Unsubscribing

ICLAM takes your preferences into account as much as possible in the provision of services and information. ICLAM allows you to specify these yourself through your own account. If you do not wish to receive Newsletters or to particpate in the ICLAM community, you can unsubscribe at any time through your own account. If you do not want to receive any services or do not want your personal data to be stored, you can unregister yourself.

Viewing and correcting your personal information

You are entitled to view the personal information ICLAM holds on you at any time. If any information is incorrect, you can change the information yourself through your account.

Revoking your ICLAM membership and website account

You can end your ICLAM membership at any time by cancelling your website account. All information attached to or with reference to your account, including your own texts, will be destroyed automatically. Information written on other pages, like the ICLAM History, is not related to your account and can be considered to be part of the public domain. If you feel otherwise, please contact the administrator by using the webform.

Browsing history

General information on visits to ICLAM websites is captured and stored without visitors being identified. The purpose of this is to improve the quality of the website. This information is not used to put targeted information for you on the site. Every visitor will see the same information as other visitors with the same role (e.g. member, delegate).

IP address

ICLAM also uses your computer’s IP address for this purpose. The IP address is a number that is automatically assigned to your computer when you browse the internet. This information can also be used to see how the website is being used and for analysis and reporting purposes. In principle, IP addresses are not linked to information that would identify you, unless you have given your explicit permission for this. If misuse of access to a website is suppected or detected (like spamming), the IP-address is recorded and added to a black list valid for all ICLAM website. Further data of the perpetrator are not kept. We need this IP-address list to keep your visit to our websites safe.
